Need secrets for N2

I need anything that can help me go faster. I don't care if its cheating
because I only drive against AI cars. I do not race in a racing league
either. So if you know of any secrets where I can go faster please write
me and tell me. I have to drive with braking help on and drive an
Automatic.

Secret number one - turn off the damn braking help and start shifting.  The
auto-trans
shifts way too soon and never downshifts - resulting in poor acceleration
at most short
tracks.  The braking help also is a major hinderence to speed.

As for cheating - what is the fun in cheating ?  If you can cheat and smoke
38 computer
generated cars - I doubt there is much satisfaction in that.  In fact - the
most fun is when
you run a track where your setup is just a touch off and you have to
scratch and claw to
stay up front - then you take two tires on your last stop - get the lead
and try and hold off
some faster race cars.

Turn Auto Braking off and slow down.....concentrate on a smooth line
with out jamming on and off the brakes.  Coast going into the turns and
concentrate on easing on the gas sooner exiting the turns.  I am sure
most would agree that the biggest secret to this game is long hours of
seat time... practice, practice, practice!!

good luck!!

Turn off the braking help.  You can't go fast with it on.  You'll be
surprised at the difference.  If you still have to run with braking
help, then you should reduce the opponent strength to match your
strength.

I agree. Very much so.  Cheating against the AI is worse than cheating
against humans.  At least there is a question whether the humans are
also cheating.  The AI don't cheat, they just drive like maniacs
sometimes. :-)  It would take you about 4 weeks to be able to compete at
100% opponent strength with NASCAR 1.  NASCAR 2 is much easier to
improve.  If you are using the stock setups that come with N2, try
adjusting them.  They can all be improved by reducing the drag
components.  Joe Farr is a great source of information.  His track
guides and setups will have you trading paint with Mark Martin instead
of J. Bohart. :-)

lower the level in driver strength and you will beat them every time.
the next best answer is to practice, practice, practice.

Have you noticed that you can change the %strength of the opposing drivers?
Doesn't make you go faster, makes the other cars go slower.  Same result.
But why not get some enjoyment out of the game, and learn how to drive
without the aids on?

When all else fails, read the instructions.
