TSW Pots

Hi All,

I have a TSW  stock wheel and the pots are starting to go "south" I'd
like to get something locally, what should I be looking for ???  I'm
using the game port on my soundblaster Live if that makes any
difference. I guess what I'm asking for are resistances and if one
type might last longer, give better control (GPL of course) etc.

Thanks
George

A 100k linear pot.  Emphasis on the LINEAR otherwise it will never
calibrate properly.

My $.02 is to get the 100k SPEC pots from Thomas Enterprises.  It also
wouldn't hurt to send a quick email to Dave Thomas Jr. at:

and tell him any specifics about your wheel (e.g., when you received
it, etc.) so that he can ensure you get pots that fit your steering
shaft.  They're probably 1/4" diameter pots, but again, it wouldn't
hurt to give him a quick email.  I've found he replies very quickly.

The Thomas prices might be a little higher than what you might be able
to find locally, but IMO getting them from Thomas was worth the extra
money because I knew they'd work; the instructions for the wheel unit
pot replacement were helpful for me (I'd never replaced those before);
and it saved me the time that would be spent trying to find the right
stuff locally (and not being completely sure if I'd be getting parts
that worked).
