PC newbie wants sims

Have very much enjoyed Microprose F1 Grand Prix an my Atari for the last
3 years. And have been able to win every race at level 5.

Now i'm buying a P100 PC with 16MB RAM; 1.2MB HD; 256 cache; 4x CD Rom;
MGA Millenium card;...runing with Windows NT.
So...what should I buy?
I love F1 and Indy car.
I'm a bit disapointed now that i'm mastering what I have.
Is there a really difficult racing sim?
One that allows for wing adjustment; brake and gear settings; and tyre
choices?
I have read a few articles here and it sounds like there is.
But after looking in PC Magazines "Top 100 CD Roms" article I noticed the
2 (seemingly) good sims were DOS based.  :-(

Please let me know what you think would be best.  :-)

I don't know about the rest of you...but i'm dreaming of the day that we
can all race each other in sims...over the net!  8^)

Thanks!

is the best platform to launch from.  No processing or memory overheads that a
windows platform wastes.  Anyway, the best sims at the moment are F1GP and
Indycar Racing.  NASCAR seems to use a lot of processor time and not get much
more out of it(although your spec machine will run it quite nicely).  Look at
the screen shots from F1GP2 at HTTP//WWW.MICROPROSE.COM and you will be
wetting yourself with e***ment.  I can't wait any longer.  I am already
dreaming F1GP2.
