So,

I think these guys should race at the 'Ring against each other for 25
laps or something and we should figure out how to put it on PPV over the
'net.  The winner can get the proceeds minus the cost of 'broadcasting' it.
Good idea?

:o)

It occurs to me now that maybe some folks don't know what PPV stands for.
It's "Pay Per View."  They sell special events on cable TV that way in the
USA, dunno about elsewhere (as usual.)

For those who have not seen the replay of Mr. Woeger's record at the ring,
you really should check it out. I was amazed! I would love to see the two of
them going at it .

What a rip off!
Do they also charge for how many people you have with you to watch the
fight?
TV license, Digital, Sky,PPV, I tell you this is all getting very
silly. Plus the sport coverage is not that good whatever you have
anyway. You know, commentators that don't have a clue about what
they're talking about, too many adverts (ITV F1). I believe a formula
1 racing event should never, ever be interrupted by adverts, specially
when you have to see the same adverts in the same sequence over and
over again and narrators that have to go on with whatever the local tv
director chooses to show. It makes it difficult to get into the race,
watching a live F1 on ITV is the same as watching the highlights but
you have more adverts. Plus I think it's time they thought about
different camera setups as they have given us the same views for
years. Plus there is nothing more thrilling than in car shots of a
live race. Perhaps of more than one o two drivers would be nice too.
The other day I watched a Kart race with 12 year old drivers and there
was more overtaking and excitment in a few laps than the whole of last
F1 season, where races were won in the pits, drivers held up other
drivers so someone else could win. And I don't have to tell you guys
about Touring Cars and countless other racing sports tha provide with
so much excitment.
F1 needs a major shake up in my view, from tv deals to sponsoring and
race rules. Aslo a major injection of fair competition. wouldn't go a
miss. I have followed F1 for many years now I have never been so
disastisfied with I see like now. Maybe they should have all the cars
exactly the same build an then we'd probalbly have some proper
competition, and goodness me some ***y overtaking manoeuvres. I miss
the 80's for that (apart from the turbo bit).
I know... I am on a different subject now.

Cheers

Mauricio

Speaking of the Ring and replays, I'm having trouble saving a replay
of an entire lap.  When I go to replay mode and move the slider all
the way back to the left, I'm already part way through the lap.  Is
there any way to increase the size of the replay file to capture an
entire lap?  I have 128Mb of RAM, so I don't think that could be the
problem.

I found watching the replays of the fast guys' laps of the Ring to be
extemely helpful, and it's caused me to modify my line through some of
the sections.  Last night I was able to haul the Ferrari around in
8:30.18, a full 8 seconds faster than my previous best in a Lotus.
Tonight, for sure, I'm gonna get into the 8:20's!

Alex

Ignore the help from Darek.  It won't change anything.

Add this in your core.ini :

[ Replay ]
replayMemoryOverride = 20000

I think this is 20megs of your memory that will be used for replay when you
launch GPL. That's what I have, and it's pretty long how much I can :)

Great idea ... but where is the underdog?

Every great sporting event has an underdog that you can cheer on :)

I volunteer for the role of the underdog ;)

More seriously though .... keep an eye out on Schubis page for the Champs
League 2. The showdown at the Ring is sure to be awesome and you should be
able to download the full replay when the race is over.

Maybe Greger, Wolfi and a few of the other super fast ring drivers would be
interested in running a seperate GP length race for a true test of their
race ability :)  Watch this space!

It will be great for sure.

Well, I have done some GP length races online in the BRM and the Ring
is coming up next on 28th this month. Will be a challenge to drive the
BRM there. :)

Check http://www.snafu.de/~xoph/ for the league site.
