It shows up now at 11:15pm and I was able to enter with the password.
Watkins Glen was in practice session at the time.

Practice was going well until my screen froze and I wrecked you. Sorry
again. :-(

I had a race earlier at WG with Uncle Fester where it froze also. He reeled
me in after some early trouble, and when he was within 1-1.5 seconds behind
me I swtitched on the mirror and had a freeze up After he went by he was
disco'd.

This screen freeze s**t is driving me crazy. Hadn't happened much at all
lately until last night. Used to happen at regular intervals and now it's
completely random.

Yep.  Two laps straight, I clipped the T1 ice-grass which would
accelerate me into the quicksand.  I was about 15 sec behind after that
second incident.  I know he let me catch up...

Passed you in T2, at the apex of T3 my screen locked up tighter than a
drum & had to reboot.  :-(

Only other time I've ever experienced it was with you & Eldred at Pocono
last week.  At least I know it's not just a problem with my rig here.
Wonder if the server gets too loaded down sometimes to deal with the
extra strain of N2k2?  Gonna have to put usage limits on them college
twerps.  :-P

Fwiw, I had these at one point too, and they were memory/system resources
related I believe.  In setting up my league's races, once they're going, I'd
alt-tab out a few times during practice to do other things.  Then, I'd get
1-2 second freezes during the race.

Since I quit doing the above, haven't had any freezes.

Any chance something like this is happening and/or to many things running
in the background ?

Sounds like you are having lock ups while I'm having temporary (1-3 sec)
screen freezes. My game hasn't actually locked up on me yet.

The last thing I want to do is cause a wreck in an online race. The way I
wiped out rik zeppelin in practice it couldn't have looked more like I did
it on purpose as well. I turned right into him caused a wild crash.

I've tried different swap file settings but I can't seem to eliminate the
freezes completely. Nothing is running in the background either.

Just for the record, I knew it was not on purpose.
I bailed cause I was tired.  Hell, I had to be at work at 3 am today.  I'm
sure Eldred's server will be a great place for ras-ers to go. Good luck with
your screen freeze.  :)

In my case, yes it's only happened on your server.  Could be a
coincidence I suppose, but I've done a lot of running at different
places without a problem.

I'll second that.  I have used new drivers, old drivers, two different
brands of soundcards and still get seemingly random lockups.   I have so far
had good results with the 21.83 whql drivers.  Actually the fastest fps I've
seen yet(70-80's with a full field during practice)...but still some lockup
action(although the last time was leaving the car while in the pits..not on
track)

ZoneAlarm caused the screen freezes for me in N4. I switched to Sygate
Personal Firewall and no more problem.
