I installed the Omega drivers today, and they're fine.  Of course, I
don't have (and have never had) any problems with loading road
courses.

No way!  I have never had to do something that drastic!

Any way, I followed the instructions in the readme (uninstalled the
3.2 drivers and the control panel then reinstalled both - 3.4 drivers
1st) and so far no problems at all.

Hi Don

No, but I now know what I did wrong. I tried to install the XP version
by mistake (I needed win98 ver.) and instead of the installer checking
the os version and stopping the install, it just tried to install
anyway, screwing my system in the process. I take part of the blame, of
course, what with not having a backup and using the wrong version. But
you would think the installer would have known better than to install
into the wrong OS.

I still don't know whether to just reformat or not. I'm sure there's a
solution out there on the net, but s I cannot read web pages in the res,
I'm stuffed! I can't even changed to SVGA, the system just goes back to VGA.

Cheers

Gerry

PS, thanks for all the info on disk imaging, guys, I'll definitely be
making use of that in the future!

New Cat 3.4 drivers for Radeon

Wow, I thought it was just me as I've never seen anything on this before.
I've been trying to run an accelerated season in NR2003 using the 4X wear
factor at a 25% length race. I'm just up to Sears Point and I can't get past
lap 12 to 14 without a solid lockup that requires hitting the reset button
on the tower... nothing else works. I've never had a problem at any other
track with my current hardware setup but since I've run into this snag I've
tried three different driver sets inclucing the latest set of Omega drivers
for my Radeon 9500NP (can't use the hacked drivers to unlock the extra
pipelines as I get major artifacts and I'm not oc'ing the graphics card
either... surprising for me). I'm positive it's just this track and possibly
Watkin's Glen (haven't run enough laps there yet back to back to notice the
same behaviour yet) as my hardware setup runs flawlessly at all the ovals...
I've even run some full length races without any trouble at all. Is there a
fix for this I'm unaware of?
Regards,
Robin
