You would be better off if you just disabled paging.  Are you trying
to run a DOS or windows binary?  If it's a DOS program and you have
sufficient memory, the correct properties set on its shortcut and no
other programs running on the system, you shouldn't see any paging
except at startup anyway.

Win95 and virtual mem

Im planning on upgrading to 40megs Ram for NROS and win95.Im curious
as to whether anyone has setup a virtual hard drive in memory and had
Win95 use it for its virtual memory functions.I plan on trying this to
keep Win95 from accessing my hard drive during the game(which makes it
pause).

So, lemme get this straight (getting out my scorecard):
You're going to take away some of your RAM, and dedicate it to be a RAM
drive, and set your computer to use that as virtual memory, in effect,
giving you the RAM back, but with some complicated-ass mapping and
management in the middle?

Here's a thought: TURN OFF VIRTUAL MEMORY and you'll get just about the
same effect, but without the complexity.

N2 will only hit the disk when you're not driving. (To load tracks,
etc.) For the rest of the time, N2 will not touch the disk. (Win95 may
hit the disk for VM purposes (unless you turn it off) or other reasons,
most of which you can turn off (System Agent, etc.))

Well it was just a thought in case I couldnt run N2 and mt connection
to the internet and whatever TEN software that may be necessary at the
same time. I know it might have been a stupid idea, but I just cant stand
the pausing in win95.My first experiment would have been to turn off
virtual memory, although I was told once that even this wont stop all
of the disk swapping.  Thanks for your reply and for helping to create
the greatest Nascar sim in the history of mankind!
