GP2 Graphics Quality?

GP2 Graphics Quality?

by Robert Biro » Sun, 11 May 1997 04:00:00

After playing a number of 3DFX graphic accelerated games, there is no going
back.

I am considering the purchase of GP2.  My main concern is the graphics.  I
know that you can select SVGA but are they comparable to 3DFX quality or
are they blocky and pixelized?

Any comments would be appreciated.

GP2 looks fine in SVGA, however it sucks raw eggs when it comes to what
you have come to expect frame rate wise with full detail.  If you have
the CPU horsepower, you might get a decent frame rate at most tracks
with some detail turned off.  Unfortunately this excellent sim was not
optimized for graphics speed period!  And there are no known plans to
port it over to any 3-D accelerated video cards.
