Is it me or what, I am having a heck of a time trying to outbrake the other
riders. I have no help settings, manual brakes and shifting and I can't seem
to stop at the same rate as the other bikes. I am using my CH pedals as
throttle and brakes. Whats the catch here, or is it just PRACTICE!

I find I can brake quicker by changing down through the gears quickly at the
same time.  So far I haven't wrecked the gearbox.

Cheers

I know it is the latter for me !!

However, getting the body position for braking seems to help  - I use the
hat to sit-up and lean.
It feels as if it is sensitive to body lean forward or backward in cornering
too.
Or at least, that is how I have explained away my many crashes :-)

Try sitting up as you brake - only having one brake input is a bummer.
Then the rear seems to provide more of the brake effort.
Also, hard braking on a bike does NOT work.
You only succeed in lifting the rear wheel - which then halves your contact
with the road and braking !!
This games really needs two brake pedals ( levers please :-)
I want to dab the rear brake just a little to get the rear end moving then
control the power to avoid high-siding it.

Great game !
But I don't think a home setup can match the real thing and that will always
be a limitation for bike sims.
Shame :-(

yeh, gives good engine braking to rear wheel.
But I've found it send the bike skidding if left to late.
Anyone managed to rig a front/rear brake control ?

Exactly, I am trying different programming on my TM F16, and F22 to see if I
can "Dab" the rear brake. I use the F16 TQS four way button to shift up and
down, this works well. I just program the up and down buttons from the four
way to emulate the J1 and J2 buttons on the joystick.

It does take some practice to get things right. I find the A1 riders can
brake later than I can, If I began braking when they did I would be in the
gravel every time.Pick your braking point ( as deep as you can )
and try to keep it smooth, sometimes slower into the corner can mean faster
out. Also make sure you`ve got the smoothest line through the corner, I find
I might not be first in but if my line is good I will pass on the exit,
although they may pass me on the next of a tight series of turns in the same
manner. You usually find a section of the track where your a little quicker
and can capitalise on it.
