IRC2 Setup help Please

by Sonny Mel » Tue, 03 Sep 1996 04:00:00

        Hello,
    Can someone tell me where I can find some setups for Idycar II. I
just got the program and running it in Windows 95 and love it, but
either I can't drive for beans or I need some serious help in setting
up the cars. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Send e-mail to

Thank you.....

I can't give u a page but i can give u a few good tips if u want

reduce steering lock on non-ovals to 11 {ovals about 7} to prevent
understeer

Put more negative camber on the rear wheels to prevent high speed
oversteer

Use stagger on a non-oval if it is predominatly one way corners
{for example at el. lake u put on stagger for that mother of a right
hand bend}

Drive with as much possible front wing as is feasible for good
straight line speeds and as low rear as possible until u hit serious
oversteer {the camber really helps to stop this}

Shocks stiffen up those shocks none should be below 50% as a rule of
thumb.

I usually had the front wheel that was taking most of the cornering
load up pretty high at about 80-90% {ie the right front at laguna
seca, nice track 1:04:9xx my best :)

Do all your hotlaps with goodyear tires and a reynard chassis, leave
the weather at the way it is ie 70 all the time.

Hope some of that helps
