Games stop for 0,2 - 1 sec..:(

After I installed my 1. wheel I get this annoying stops in the games....
Just when sliding car round a corner everything stops for about
0,2 - 1 sec... and I have to restart the race...coz im off the track..;(

Never seen this before ! I have been racing on/off line for about two
years with my keyboard...in RM, STCC2, GP3, MGPRS, SCGT, GPL etc.

The wheel is a Thrustmaster 360 Modena Pro (non FF) connected to
USB-port of a :

Asus P2B with a P-II 400
256MB SDPC 100 ram
Creative Geforce Pro DDR 32MB
Creative PCI-64 soundcard...

I've installed latest drivers from Thrustmaster...

BTW: Just tried to disconnect wheel and remove driver...and problems
gone...but I would appreciate driving with wheel....:)

Should I have got another wheel??? e.g. with 15 pin gameport plug?

Or another brand???

Do you have any programs running at the same time as you are racing, for
example anti-virus software?  These will cause stutters.  Shut them down
when racing if you do have them running at the moment.

The second possibility is that you may have some hardware interupts (IRQ)
being shared.  It is best not to have IRQs shared.  To check if you have any
shared interupts, right click on the My Computer icon and select Properties.
Select the Device Manager tab and double click on the Computer icon at the
top of the tree.  You will now see a list of the IRQs being used.  If you
see 2 or more devices sharing the same number, particularly if your video
and sound card are sharing then you may well get stutters.  The usual way to
correct this is to move your cards to different slots on the motherboard
since most motherboards have certain slots sharing IRQs.  Look at your
motherboard manual to find out which slots are shared and which aren't and
put your cards in the unshared slots first.  Unfortunately this can very
often be a trial and error process.  In your case I suspect that your USB
hub is sharing an interupt with either the sound card or the graphics card.
By moving one or other of these the problem should hopefully go away.

Cheers

Phil

I like this wheel a lot - i am using it for league races combined with my
BRD F1 Sim pedals. Unfortunately the Thrustmapper software is causing your
problem, so you need to uninstall it, but then you won't be able to have
split pedal axes. Everything else will work ok though.
Hope this helps

Just setup up your wheel with Thrustmapper, then close(exit) the program
from the desktop.  Each time you reboot you may have to reset the wheel.
But don't delete it, I still have split axis after closing the program.

In the game control control panel you can also try taking the tick out
of "Poll using Interrupts" or whatever it is called. May be causing
the problem if it keeps looking.

Also try the other USB port, since mine (Guillemot Ferrari, which I think is
the same wheel) only works in USB slot 2.  In slot 1 it interferes with my
modem (even though the modem isn't usb).
