Nascar2 Pit Board?

Nascar2 Pit Board?

In the original, each time you passed the start/finish line a little
window
would pop up in the upper left corner with lap info, interval to next
car,
current standing, and laps remaining.  I really liked this option, but
haven't seen it in Nascar2.  Am I just missing something, or has this
been
removed?

Yup, they castrated the board from the game.

Anyone having trouble with the F1 key? When using this to see how many
laps and your lap speeds are I go into car setup and do some tweaking
and come back to run the results and I have to turn the F1 screen off
and back on again. It won't work again till I do this.

I think it's gone, Eric.  I think Papyrus substituted the [F2] option
for interval and the [ALT}-O option for lap times (not lap speed)
instead of the pit board.  I miss it too. It will be good, I think, to
start using lap times instead of speeds, just like the real drivers do
(well, I drove a 439, but I was hopin' for a 420). I'm also going to
have to get used to remembering what gear I'm in (especially on the road
courses) because I don't feel like having the speed/gear window floating
in my car. I miss the gear indicator, but I don't miss the speedometer.

BTW, I'm glad you got your copy. How soon after you bought it did the
mail arrive? <g>

Yes, I liked this very much too.. A good and quick way to judge your
progress as far as your speed per lap...

It still hasn't arrived.  I should have bought a copy in the store on
Wed. when I first saw it.

Eric...Hit ALT-O and see if you like that better.
What's gonna happen?

Yeah I know about that, but really don't care for the spotter.  I'd
much rather have my old pit board back.

If we liked it, chances are they removed it...  For accuracys sake, of
course!!

I think the display brought up by pressing F1 has the same info that used
to be on the pit board, i.e. lap time, running pos, number of laps left,
interval to next car (as of the last lap I think).  In fact on the command
key summary F1 is listed as "Lap Info/Pit Board."  I often run with both
the F1 display up and the  spotter giving me times.

I kinda miss the old pit board too.

I like running with the F2 window opened (toggled to show intervals),
so the F1 really doesn't help me.  Having the spotter call out lap
time/speed, while perhaps more realistic) is a lame replacement I
think.

I had the same problem.  When I come back to the session it only shows the
car number.  Turning F1 off and then on again gets it working right again.

It's gone, Eric. I wasn't happy to see it go, but I actually like the Alt-O
option better.

Just for everyone's info, the Spotter calls out your times if you just
hit 'o'.  No need for the alt-o combo.
Bill.

Oops, Alt-O still works, but 'o' is much easier. Didn't realized they had
implemented that request.
