For those of you interested in the rules and qualifying
conditions see below! This will be a good class for new comers
to get there feet wet in!
SM Qualifying settings:
- Weather - Typical
- Track - Rockingham
- Top 20 will advance
- Any DQ run will not be used to qualify
- Car number must be in both Kali name and "in-game" name
- We WILL allow re-runs to the people who are not in the top 20
- If you do not run 7.100 seconds or slower, your best bet would be to
continue working on your setup and qualify once you have gotten into that
area. Many drivers are running 6.9's and possibly 6.7's, and as you can
tell from the Pro Stock qualifying, the competition is steep.
- If you do not plan to run in the SM class during the 1st SHRA season,
please do not attempt to qualify for it. The amount of people who try to
qualify for a class is enormous, please help us by easing the load.
- Super Modified qualifying is scheduled from July 1st - July 6th. This is
one day loner than usual because of July 4th. There will NOT be any
qualifying on July 4th.
Qualifying procedures:
- You may show up to the Kali, EPIX server during any of the 5 days. You do
not have to be on the server at 9pm EST, just any time between 9pm and 10pm
EST. I helps us if people gradually come in, and not all at the same time.
- When you arrive in the chat room, (it will be clearly marked as
#SM_Qualify), please insure that you Kali nick-name has your SHRA car
number included, (ex. TMcArthur-###), also, make sure that your nickname in
the game also has your car number. Any attempts that do not have driver
numbers can not be used. Your car number can be found on the driver
listings on www.shra.com under the Open Bracket class menu and then
selecting which time zone you are signed up for.
- Now that you are in the chat room, it is very important that you do NOT
chat. Just listen as the SHRA staff will be assigning you to an Admin. We
will be using car numbers to assign you, so pay attention. This Admin. that
you are assigned to will host a game, (the game name will be the same as
the admin.'s Kali name), in which you will join and be allowed two ? mile
runs. The fastest of these 2 runs will be your qualifying time. We will do
our best to assign you in order as you entered the chat room.
- You are only allowed two ? mile runs per day, and only allowed them if
you are not in the top 20 drivers. If you get "bumped" from the top 20, you
will be able to re-qualify the next day, and only the next day. Drivers who
get bumped on Sunday night, will be allowed to re-qualify at the conclusion
of the 1 hour session. We will tell you if you are able to re-qualify on
Sunday night.
- When you enter the race, pull down the "stats" tab and ensure that the
weather is set correctly. Altitude should be 800ft, and so on.
- If for some reason your attempts are interrupted by lag, booting, or any
other condition that we are unable to control, you will be allowed to
re-run the attempts. Do this by meeting the Admin. back in the chat room,
and he will contact you to re-run the attempt. (AOL users, I advise that
you change ISP. AOL has never been very good with online *** and you
will most likely experience high latency and may not even be able to see
the hosted game which means you may not be able to qualify)
- If you have a question about qualifying, please type a "?" and one of the
staff members will get to you when they can. The race director, usually me
or Don Wilshe, will not have time to answer questions. Do not chat in the
main window, only in private chat windows.
- If you happen to be lucky enough to have one of the fastest ET's, please
protect yourself by saving the setup, telemetry, and event.log. You may be
asked for these things to validate your run. The telemetry file is
automatically saved after each run in your \BURNOUT\SAVE directory, (along
with the event.log). It will be one of the 2 .tel files. Just save those
off to the side for a day or two. If you have not been asked for them by
then, you will not be.
- Once you have completed your qualifying attempt, we ask you to do one of
2 things. 1) If you want to become a spectator, please remove your car
number from your Kali nick-name and quietly observe. By removing your car
number this tells us that you will not be qualifying, or 2) leave the chat
room.
- The nights results will be posted on www.shra.com under the Super
Modified class link the next morning.
Have fun and Good luck to you all.
