need NFSPU IP networking advice

I cannot get these this game networked.
All my other games work fine: NFSHS, N4, Quake3...
Ive tried using my remote computers IP address in Multiplayer IP but no
connection.192.168.1.101 and connection is lost
So I started using http://www.racesimcentral.net/ and still no work.
Is there a patch or something this original version needs?

Could you explain more accurate, exactly what you are trying to do? Do you
want to connect two PC's and play on your LAN, or are you having trouble
connecting to EA's servers?
If you try to connect to someone else over the internet via Peer to Peer
TCP/IP multiplayer in NFS PU, the server side has to open port 9442 in their
router/firewall.
If you have deleted gimme.dll, you can under some circumstances be unable to
connect to EA's servers and Peer to Peer TCP/IP servers.
This is probably not the problem, but as a client your router/firewall has
to allow ICMP. (ping)
