Please remember this is just RUMOR off a website!

7/24 Papyrus Departures

Dave Kaemmer has left Papyrus, said to be tired and upset about what has
been happening to the studio there.  Management has done nothing by lay
people off over the past 2 years, and Dave's tired of it.  Word is the
studio is looking to replace him "confidentially," and they are also looking
for 3D graphic programmers after laying off 3 of them recently.

The bizarre happenings continue.

<A rumor off of a rumor>

So *this* is how we're gonna get GPL2!  I wondered how Dave was gonna
pull it off.

IF it's true maybe Mr K could team up with the Wests to make a bunch of add
on cars to sell with WSC.  Maybe he'll retire and help out with Rudd's
Racer.  Does this mean that the big wad of cash that was amassed (the Papy
Present) will be going to a bunch of rookies who have never even heard of
GPL?

ROFLMAO!  Ric, we would have the funniest damn sim available.  However,
people think N4 online is horrible now... wait until they have the Tywee
version!

Replays of Tywee taking out Ojeda and Baseracer while going in the wrong
direction.  LOL

Dave Henri

Rumor

by Dave Henri » Thu, 26 Jul 2001 02:15:08

What a strange world we live in.  Richard Garriott forms a company that
spawns several groundbreaking, record selling products.  His reward is to be
forced out of his own company.
If the rumour is true, Dave K has produced what could be one of the best
selling lines of racing sims of all time.  Just to be squashed like a bug on
the windshield of Corporate Commerce.
The final irony maybe that the company that squashed Kaemmer's hopes, also
was the victum of the same tactics when Sierra sold it's sole to a larger
cash cow.  Where are Roberta and Ken Williams these days??
dave henrie
ps...I think I'll start up a company myself.  I can probably hire a certain
un-employed programmer fairly cheaply.  I'll call the new company.

Rumor

It was ICQ'd to me.  Figured some people would like to read it so I posted
it on RAS.  Within 2 hours I get 4 more ICQ msgs "informing" me of this
rumor.   ROFLMAO

What's the name of that game...  "pass it on" or something where you tell
one person who tells the next, etc and by the time it reaches the end it's
nearly the total opposite. ?
