General Game Issues
------------------------------
Tunnel at Monaco
To see the tunnel at Monaco the trackside object settings must be full. You
may won't to check it out pressing the hotkey ALT-D several times.
Missing Network Support
F1GP Support modem and serial link play, but it does not support network
play, e.g. IPX protocol.
General Game Playing
-------------------------------
Car in Pits
If you drive without steering help you can steer in the pit where you want,
but if you drive with steering help your driving is restricted.
Basic Car Setup
The basic thing in the car setup is that you put lots of wings to front and
less to rear. Gear rations depends much there are slow corners and long
straights.
Car Slower in Race than in Practise
F1GP varies the car HP and Grip settings to better simulate real F1 racing
conditions.
Making a Good Start
The trick is to have just the right amount of revs as the light goes green,
then accelerate very gently.
Running of Out Fuel and Mechanical Faliures
It is not possible to run out of fuel or for the engine to blow in F1GP.
Saving Lap Records
F1GP only saves race records on 100% distance.
Game Performance
---------------------------
How Fast Computer I Need
You need at least IBM PC 286 to play F1GP with 2MB of RAM. I recommend
anything fairly fast like a P100. The game doesn't run any faster on a P200
than a P100.
Texture Settings
There are varing levels of textures and trackside objects. Not really a
problem with modern fast computers (Pentiums).
Editing the Game
------------------------
Editing Cars
The best way to change the car colours is in F1-ED.
Editing Helmets
The best way to change the helmets is in F1-ED.
Trouble Shooting
-----------------------
Program too big to fit in memory
F1GP requires 600Kb of free conventional memory. You need to free some up.
If you are having problems then email me.
Installation Problems
There is some problem with installing the game from the CD-ROM. The best way
is to copy the directory MPS/GPRIX to your hard drive. Remember to change
their properties and make them not read-only.
