Cost of NROS

Cost of NROS

I tried NROS on TEN for the first time last night.  Besides some the technical
problems I encountered, and my apparent lack of driving skills :-( , I was most
disappointed in the cost of this service. For many of you it appears that the
entertainment value you receive justifies the $19.95/month for unlimited
usage (I am making some assumptions here).  For me I'm still on the fence and
glad for the 5 free hours so I can decide.

My question is:
Is this the only on-line N2 racing forum available?  Are there any others that
might be cheaper?  If not, what is the most economical way to use TEN?

(re-wrapped, but content not changed):

Heck, there were people that kept coming back to Hawaii with
multi-hundred dollar phone bills per month! For them, $19.95 is like
mana straight from heavan.

It's the only "sanctioned" (by Papyrus and NASCAR) venue, and the only
venue for more than 8 humans in a race.

Well, there's Kali and Kahn (both IPX over dialup solutions), but
neither will perform near as well (nor permit more than 8) as TEN.

The trick is to limit your on-line time to something reasonable. If you
get hooked on running tons of pick-up races every couple of days, you're
just gonna run up a big bill. Try finding a good league that's at your
own level and just meet them once a week for an hour or two. Then each
session will be real focussed and you'll make some new friends. I always
found that a much more enjoyable way to use Hawaii and much less
expensive.

Imho, 19.95 month is a bargain for unlimited racing, but I'm a racing
junkie that had over 200.00 phone bills racing on Hawaii. Actually, you can
get the vip subscription to Ten, which is what I have, 39.95 for 3 months
of unlimited use, it's like getting the 3rd month free. I think it's well
worth the cost.

Personally , I think 19.95 month for unlimited racing is a bargain. But
then, I'm a racing junkie, who averaged 200.00 month phone bills on the
Hawaii program. Actually, you can get the vip plan on Ten, 39.95 for 3
months, unlimited use. Kinda like getting the 3rd month for free. Imho,
it's a bargain,and a blast!!!
