The latest release notes with GSB mention something about compatibility with
"different versions of GPL". How many versions are out there? Is it possible
that some of the GPL insiders are already secretly out there testing a
patched release of GPL in VROC racing???

There are at least two european "versions".  The no CD patch, which
worked for many people didn't work with finnish (north european?)
GPL.  I hate "versions".

Your version has a CD check? What kind of box did it come in and where
did you purchase it?

Basically, GSB will be ready to handle the 1.1 patch (when it is
released).  Apparently one cannot join a 1.1 host with a 1.0 version of
GPL.  However, I think a 1.1 can join a 1.0....  There are rumors that a
very select few are involved in the beta testing of 1.1 patch.

There is also a 0.2 version of GPL floating about in The Netherlands.
It would appear that this was a pirated copy of the early beta that was
sold through legitimate stores.  This version will not work online with
any other version.

I haven't got the box anymore, but in the CD cover is text:
RCV 10001833
GPL FE PC CD CASE

I did buy it from Dose at Vaasa.
