"Overall -- Ace - One of the best driving games available today."

Gee...3 hours ago it was "THE' best driving game available today.
What gives?

And..what will be the best in 2 weeks?
Also..How much in hours will you play MTM2?
If you play over 2 a day for 6 months and on...like Quake2,  Nascar 2,
ICR2,  F1RS...
Then I will agree with you.
I bet MTM2 gets boring pretty fast.
IMO
Its an Arcade game, nothing to keep people interseted but 13 year olds.

If you read the first part of the review that stated that MTM was one of the
few games i played online - you might understand.

I personally don't play Quake 2 online nor the other 3 games you mentioned,
this is just my view, being based in the UK i don't get online as much for
multiplayer games as i would like, MTM is one of the few that gets me online
to play against some of my friends here around the UK.

You seem to be judging a game you haven't even played yet, and you call
other reviewers bad. I'm also sure that the other "13 year olds" who buy it
will also have fun.

IMHO, SODA racing blows away MTM2 for offroad "real" racing, not the arcade
stuff.  This is based on the MTM2 beta I tried.  Frame rates are pretty low
on MTM2 also barely getting to 20fps on my P200mmx with Voodoo2 and 64 megs
ram.  I play SODA on my Stealth 2 in rendition mode.

Bizarre, I get 25-30 fps on my P200 w/ Voodoo1 and 48 MB.

Note that there IS a slowdown at the beginning of the race. When
trucks are close to you they are drawn in more detail, so when a lot
of trucks are bunched together the frame-rate suffers.

I get that kind of framerate all over the map. Of course, I have tons of
graphic options on...

I think the only one I turn off is "headlights" under Hardware options
(and "Sun glare" I think), since it runs faster and looks better
without this option selected. Bottom line, the game looks great and
runs smooth on a P200/Voodoo 1.

Me too.  And this is one 40 year old "13 year old " who'll buy it when it comes
out.  It's a shame some folks get too old to have this kind of fun.  I loved
MTM and expect MTM2 will be even better.

This game wont die!!!    It will be around and people will find it interesting
until they release MTM3. The best thing about it is that it isnt marketed as a sim
because it isnt one. MTM1 has 40-50 people on the zone racing at any one time.
There is a tourny in Las Vegas that Microsoft, TRI, Bigfoot, and Diamond are all
donating prizes for. Bigfoot is sponsoring a internet racing team where you can
challenge Team Bigfoot to races and win t-shirts, Microsoft prizes, and Diamond
voodoo2 cards and sound cards. So it really doesnt look like it will fizzle out
soon

I love this game too, but there are two things that***me off about it:

1 - The trucks AREN'T monster truck scaled in the game, they're hardly
bigger than the broken down pickup in the junkyard level.

2 - There's no car CRUSHING track.. what the ****'s with that?!
Monster trucks were originally FOR car crushing competitions.
BAH!
