Force Feedback, Monster Sound, and F1RS

I seem to be having a reoccuring problem that is really screwing up my
system.  The problem is whenever I turn on Force Feedback in F1RS, my MS
Sidewinder FF no longer appears to work in Windows98 (I just did a fresh
install).

I have to go through this process of uninstalling the Monster Sound drivers,
SideWinder drivers and rebooting.  I haven't figured out exactly what the
correct steps are, but it eventually comes back.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Did you upgrade to the latest SideWinder drivers (3.0+) ? They include
new drivers to deal with the Monster Sound cards...
