T1 resistance

I have heard discussions about the T1 giving wheel resistance when turning. Is
this really true? I currently play F1GP with the virtual pilot Yoke and it
leaves a lot to be desired in terms of actually "feeling" a turn. Does the T1
provide a better feel for it by giving resistance when you try to turn the car?
thanks for any info in advance. My decision to by the T1 or not depends on
this.

The T1 wheel has a constant resistance when turning the wheel. I haven't
looked inside it but I think it's basically a resistant spring. In other
words, as you turn, the wheel tries to center itself to give that
'feeling' of a turn. As for the problems with pedal spring breakages,
aren't the new T1's fixed? I thought I read somewhere around here that
the new T1's don't have the problem. It's a pretty good wheel for the
price. How does the ACM (?) whell compare?

The T1 uses a bungee cord for centering the wheel. So the farther
away from center you turn the wheel, the stiffer the resistance gets.

I was using a CH Flight Stick for Nascar Racing and then bought a T1
($130).  It's like a totally different game, I love it.  By the way, I

the breakage problem.  I was told that there was a problem with
springs breaking in the gas/brake pedals but that was with some of the
older models.  He says that these newer models have been improved in
that respect.  By the way, they sent me a couple of sets of springs
just in case. (no charge)

Could you guys tell me more about the T1? Does it come with a stick?
If not, how do you shift? Don't tell me to use the keyboard...

Albert,
You use the Shifter that is built into the steering unit to shift
with.  It has forward movement for upshifting and down for downshifting.
It also comes with a pedal unit for Acceleration and Brake.

Ahhh, that's good. Do you have any idea how you can go about
identifying the newer models? Ie, say I speak to a UK company that
sells the T1, how would I ensure that I was getting the newer model?
Any ideas?!

Cheers,

Stuart.

: Two red buttons on the steering unit, I set to shift up & down.
: Now if I could only keep from blowing motors...

You mean you don't use the Shift knob ?!?!?!?!?!?

Stuart,
If it is made from ABS plastic, then it is one of the newer models.
