GP2: Curing Brake Lockups

by Quixo » Sun, 04 Aug 1996 04:00:00

Hi All,

I had been having trouble with locking up my brakes too often leading
to very hgih tyre wear.  I think I've solved the problem with a mechanical
adjustment to the car.  I drive with a joystick and in the control setup screen
there is a low-sensitivity zone for both acceleration and braking.  I bumped
the value for the braking low-sensitivity zone from 50% to 75%.  Now, when I
brake I still go full on but only briefly and spend most of the braking time
below 100% on.  My tyre wear has improved noticeably.  I did the same with the
acceleration and it helped in making the power application smooter off the
corners and virtually eliminated that pesky second snap spin following and off.

Anyone else experiment with the control settings?

Your hint is excellent! - I've indeed adjusted the settings for my TSW
and I love this wonderful feature. In GP1 steering was a real problem,
but now it works fantastically.

Bye,
