good answer from him that I won't post since it's private (but actually he's
happy to know that actually many people complained about the guy))

Dear Joshua,
I would please like to say you how frustrated I am that AGN3d actually
published the GPL article on your website. It is full of errors and actually
from what I see it's seems that the person hasn't even tested the product. I
was shocked about that since I've never saw. He got his version from a Warez
around the net that was made near April of 1998, actually it never went to
the beta testers since it had too much of debugging code and too slow
because of that.
Here is the email I sent to him :

Actually...
Can you please explain in what build you got for GPL ?
If it's the Warez version Im sorry for you, all the debug code is still in
the product.
If the game lock you at 640x480 there is something wrong with your video
card. On the alpha preview it was really easy with a Voodoo2 card to achieve
36fps in 1024x768. Rendition-based cards can easily get as high as this. The
AI is soo realistic that actually you need to realise that hardware
requirements is probably bigger than any FPS or other power games. It was
like that for Nascar Racing 1 back in 1994, and the same for Grand Prix 2 by
Geoff Crammond in 1995 (even after 3years you can't get full graphics in
SVGA below 100% of CPU occupancy)
Oh, if they want you to calibrate you joystick (joystick ? how can you be
credible talking about a racing game with a joystick ? Get a wheel man...)
it's because Direct Controller is full of bugs with racing-game controllers
(heavy null-zone, axis are mostly spiking with high quality potentiometers,
etc...). The Papyrus controller input is the best in the whole racing
industry, and that's been like that for years.
Let me guess... it's too difficult for you ? Please... what you just posted
is maybe your opinion and is mostly representing a very very very little
part of hard-core racing simulator fans (witch your not)
Oh and you really think NFS3 has good graphics ? LOL.. you mean like the
canned reflections on the super-waxed shinny cars ? and those canned
3dpolygons ?
Still, why don't I see something bad about the physics engine ? you probably
feel it is too difficult heh ?
