What a ripoff the UK is
$29.99 in the Us
29.99 pounds in the UK

Even worse are the comments like "I paid $99 for my T2 - was
I ripped off" when the cheapest you can get it in the UK is
120 POUNDS !! That's an even worse exchange rate. I wouldn't
mind being "ripped-off" at that sort of rate !
And don't start me off on the difference in car prices between
the US and UK ......

Well maybe Microprose UK feels the same way and has tried to make us yanks
suffer at least a bit.
Both of the greatest Microprose UK releases XCOM (UFO) and GP2 were released
here in the U.S. a few weeks later than in Europe, driving us eager yank
customers crazy with anticipation, not to mention the fact that the US version
of GP2 has a black and white picture manual.
While I'm at it you guys at least get decent F1 coverage with Murray on the
BBC, and can enjoy a pint of decent beer ale while watching.
We instead have to get up at 4:00am to watch the races on pay TV ESPN, and
if we are sick enough to want a pint at that hour have to make due with
a watery can of Budweiser. ;-)
Life is never fair <G>.
Cheers.

Basically, were getting ripped off every day. Everything from
complete systems, to RAM and games, over here, we seem to pay a percentage
over the top. Even if the ***y thing is made here like GP2, from
Microprose UK.

I wonder if it would be cheaper ordering a T2 direct from the states
NE1 have any ideas ??

Not for much longer, the BBC and presumably Murry only have the rest of
the season, ITV (or whatever they call themselves) take over next year.
Pity real F1 dosen't have a pause button, they could press it while they
show the adverts.

The cheapest in Oz is about $79.99 which would translate to around 40
English pounds.

I do think the UK will be unfortunate enough to join the rest of the
world in having to put up with interruptions for commercial
adverti***ts during F1 coverage next year.
It's too bad, I will miss the BBC coverage and especially Murray
Walker, but not Dr. Jonathan Palmer's commentary. I wonder if CBC will
be airing the ITV coverage next year?
Cheers.

I think I read that in Autosport magazine but I am not positive.
Something about Eurosport not being able to pay enough money to the
FIA to keep the broadcast rights. Not that it affects me here in the
USA but I know the pain of shoddy F1 coverage and too many
interruptions for adverts (ESPN).
Cheers.

Time to get that letter written then :(

Did anyone else notice that they cut to an advert (Eurosport too)
whilst showing the onboard view from Blundell's car as he passed
Ribero & I think we just got a glimpse of Gugelmin as the picture
faded - they cut off less than one second before the crash! So much
for seeing the race "live".
