GTR2002 off track throttle...

I think I have turned off all assistance (except I run with auto shifting),
but still if I give it full throttle on the grass it does not spinn
immidiately as it does on the track, but only after a few seconds ??
Is there some off-track assistance I haven't noticed ?

Very funny to drive anyway :-)
I am not exactly a sim expert, going aroung Interlagos in a GT Ferrari, keep
spinning it, with the AI at their lowest I have got it to position 9 sofar
:-)
Tried the Marcos also fantastic sound, cranked up well my subwoofer makes
everything rattle, the neibours are going to love this game....

Watch it on replay or from an external camera as you do it (hit Page Down, I
think) and you will notice what happens. The gras offers so little grip it
takes a while for the spinning tyres to overcome the inertia of the car and
get it moving/spinning.

Practise, young Skywalker. <g>

The sounds are very good... the external ones are quite true to life as
well. Very polished effort by the Simbin guys.

Do you mean that the car doesn't spin?  That would be because the wheels are
spinning and the car's not even getting enough traction to spin out.

No no, I did not expect to actually get anywhere by flooring it on the grass
:-), the engine does not rew up, that is whats strange ?

Hmmm... haven't noticed that. I usually give it some revs with the clutch in
and then pop it --> instant wheelspin.

Can you describe your control actions exactly?

I think if you use clutch assistance you get the effect JS is referring to.
Try it with and without and you'll see what I mean.

Even on pavement there is a significant delay before can spin the wheels on
launch with clutch assistance on.  I would of course turn it off if you
could restart the car after a stall!
