Hi there!
*** 4th Amiga F1GP Internet Championship starts in October '96 ***
Well, some of you know Microprose's "Formula One Grand Prix" from Geoff
Crammond. This game was a topseller and many Amigians enjoyed it and still
enjoy it.
The Internet has made it possible to run a world wide championship so that
drivers can compare their abilities to others. Now as the 3rd season has
ended, the planning of the 4th season has begun.
The basic idea of the championship:
Every race has two components: in week _one_ the result of the qualifying
session is sent to the maintainer who publishes it on the amigaf1gp -
mailinglist. In week _two_ the competitors drive their races and again send
this result via E-Mail to the maintainer. This is done for all the six***
tracks (till June 1997) and at the end of the season the driver who scored
the most points is the Amiga F1GP Internet champion. This year a second
championship with less and shorter races may start, too.
If you like the sound of this and you want to know more about it, set your
WWW-Browser to

Here you'll find the results from the earlier championships, the last set
of rules, how to subscribe to the amigaf1gp-mailinglist and lots of F1GP
related things. This site is maintained by Oliver Roberts, the author of
the fantastic "F1GP-Ed", an editor that allows you to alter nearly every
little thing in F1GP. (Please notice that this server can be ocassionally
offline during the next days -> try twice ;-)
You can also send an E-Mail to me:
and I'll try to answer your questions.
Bye,
Markus Kruggel, maintainer of the 1996/97 season
