The shame, the shame, the shame.....

Fellow Danes grab your wheel and practice, we are dead last in the GPLRank
Nations cup.
I'm not pulling up the average myself, ranking below 500 with a handicap of
123, but I have ambitions of climbing ;)

I just started playing GPL 2 days ago, almost a year after buying it (got
the hardware blues) and have finished 5-10 laps practice on most of the
circuits just to be able to get a ranking.

Looking at the times set by others I see a LOT of room for improvement, my
first (and only) 3 laps on the ring was 9:59, 9:51 & 9:40, so I see a
centain pattern forming there, 3 more laps and I'll be down to 9:20, 3 more
and the 9 min. barrier will be shattered by the howls of my trusty Coventry
;)

You did a 9:59 on your FIRST lap at the Ring?!?!? Well that's it, then. I
quit...

Oh man..... now I have really done it..... Please reconsider your harsh
decision Eldred, I have things to tell, confessions to make.

The times were done at the "no damage" setting.... I did no intentional
railriding, but it saved me a lot of seconds anyway, as I didn't have to
start over on cold tires every time I touched
one of those damnes hedges.

I have allso tried GPL on and off some months ago (mostly Monza, never the
Ring) so I had a pretty good idea what the game is about. The reason I never
really got into GPL back then, was a lousy joystick which made the car
totally uncontrollable, I knew the game was great I just could not play it
:(

I got a Guillemot Ferrari wheel and now I have finally gotten around to
trying GPL again, so I'm not a 100 %newbie.... more like 95 %

I have raced just about every arcade / sim the last few years.... Viper
Racing, SCGT, NFS5, DTR, Soda, GP2, and can beat the AI in most games
without to much trouble... GPL is quite a different story though, I just
downloaded AITweak to slow those guys down a little ;)

Just give me a month or two, and i'll be ready to do battle with you on the
racetrack, but right now I'll be happy to get to number 499 in the ranking
;)

very pleasing. Unfortunately I'm not in a position to help out right now...

I was running in practice mode, no damage also. I try to avoid the hedges -
they tend to reach out and GRAB you...<g>

That 5% shouldn't make that big of a difference - TSW2mod, should be just as
good.

I've run most of those, plus Nascar 1,2,3, ICR 1,2, etc.

Unfortunately i seem to be dragging the average down ;-P

As things stand right now, I don't really think anybody can be said to drag
the average down.... It's more like a collective effort ;) Damn the sunny
weather, when it's like this outside I really can't be expected to train....
can I ??

N? alle i danske GPL racere. Der er jo flere end mand regnede med, hvilket
er kanon.
Vil bare lige sige at vi er en 5-6 stykker der j?vnligt, dagligt hvis muligt
k?re mod hinanden over WinVROC (alle danskere vel og m?rket).
Men hvis i har lyst til at brage rundt med os, s? beep mig lige p? ICQ :

God ide Karsten

Jeg vil dog nok ikke v?re til megen hj?lp i det n?ste lange
stykke tid idet jeg ikke har mulighed for at k?re da jeg ikker
er i n?rheden af min egen PC.

Men det er en god ide med en dansk SIM-Portal. M?ske et paintjob
til Ferrarien der ligner Den Bl? Avis Panoz fra Lemans - med
Dannebrog p? kunne laves.

Er der en "anti-good-AI" patch?

Eller skal jeg glemme det hele og koncentrere mig om Rally Masters? Det
g?r _meget_ bedre... har vundet nogle l?b online...:)

Dit problem er nok at du sparker for h?rdt til den! Start *LANGSOMT* og
brems i *GOD TID*! Bilerne har (havde?) s? latterligt meget kraft at der
ikke skal meget til f?r de l?ber l?bsk. Pr?v at k?re i de to forskellige
tr?nings-modeller. De har (st?rkt) begr?nset kraft, og er MEGET nemmere at
have med at g?re. Husk endelig at l?se bogen der fulgte med spillet, den
forklarer rimeligt fornuftigt hvordan du skal k?re (jeg tror jeg har l?st
den 4-5 gange og jeg er stadig en klovn til setups!). Hvis bogen er blevet
v?k(!) tror jeg nok du stadig kan f? spillet til 99,95 hos din lokale Bog &
id forretning. Pr?v Lyngby eller R?dovre (hvad der nu er n?rmest!) - hvis
de ikke har det kan de sikkert skaffe det.
Husk: BOGEN ER BIBLEN!

Sikkert nok, men hvor fedt er det? Koncentrr dig i f?rste omgang om at
styre bilen - l?bene kommer f?rst senere!
Pr?v eventuelt manuelt gear - du kan starte i f.eks. 1. eller 2. gear,
hvilket neds?tter risikoen for hjulspin. HUSK! Accelerr langsomt!

Nu kender jeg ikke lige Rally Masters, men det ville v?re en skam at smide
GPL p? hylden. Det indeholder S? meget og f?les s? fedt n?r du begynder at
kunne 'f?le' bilen!
