LFS - Ordered by PayPal, no key

by Alex Kihuran » Fri, 05 Sep 2003 08:14:51

Hello everyone

I was apprehensive about ordering overseas online until I saw they accepted
PayPal payments. Ours is hooked up to my mom's checking acocunt. I send the
exact $19.15 they asked for (30 cent currency exchange fee) around 4pm today
and havent gotten anything back. I thought it was supposed to be
instantaneous....should I be worried?

Thanks,
Alex

Don't worry at all.  While credit card payments are instantaneous, they need
to manually do the PayPal payments.  I'm sure they'll process it as soon as
they notice that they've received it. :-)  Also, you will not be receiving
any keys in your e-mail until you request one under "racer checkpoint".

And no payments received at the Racer's Checkpoint.

Thanks,

Do you have cookies set so that you never have to log into the website?  If
so, logout of the website and then log back in.  I believe this is required
for it to show that you're S1 Licensed.  If after doing this you still don't
show as being Licensed, send a quick e-mail and I'm sure he'll take care of
it.

Yep, I guess things like this are normally handled by the publisher. You get
a pretty box and a convenient way to buy it.

I'm happy to make the compromise and cut out the middle man, but not
everyone wants to do that, or is able to.

As far as the paypal problem is concerned, a quick e-mail to the developers
should sort the problem out rather more easily than would be possible if a
publisher was involved ;-)

Nah, my mom is totally computer illiterate so she let me set up the PayPal
account for her and me so that we can order stuff off Ebay and other places
online.

Thanks,
Alex

fyi...

Paypal payments made with an "echeck" or check card can take 4-7 days
to process waiting for the payment to clear.

If this is the case with your payment, you might have to wait a few
days.

Payments coming from a credit card or directly from a bank account are
made immediately.

Patience. I'm sure the payment will complete soon.

ok, ep

That's right...I finally got an answer back from the LFS team and they said
they have to wait for it to clear.

No LFS this weekend, but I should have it for the week!

Thanks,
Alex
