And they were not all that long ago, either.

Once upon a time it was possible to log into RAS and enjoy a wonderful
exchange of opinions and discuss the various aspects of the many racing sims
available to us.

One of the things I miss most in RAS today are Steve Smith's posts. Now they
were not only entertaining and informative but oh, so beautifully written!

Time marches on, I s'pose, but at my age I don't have to enjoy it ....other
than that I can be completely politically-incorrect and say so without
feeling any remorse!

There has been a lull in GOOD Sim development.  Papy breaking up took it's
toll too.

There's some new stuff coming (rFactor and, yes, iRacing) that will spice
things back up again I think.

Ah, worthy of Grandpa Simpson.

'There are too many words in the English Language, please remove three.
I'm not a crackpot'.

The demise of RAS doesn't bother me too much, it still gives me the
heads up on anything new released. Plenty of web based forums that has
a lot lower noise ratio that I visit these days.

Cheers,
Rod.

Or the old days when we saved and saved for a Rendition Video Card
so we could turn on the trees in GPL and still get 15-20FPS. hehehehehe

ssssh....Eldred never got to see the trees.  Remember all the trouble he
had braking for the Rouen hairpin?  Slowdown at the big tree on your right
we'd say....
  "Tree?"  replied Eldred.
