I have a Viewtop 12mb voodoo2 card - I'm happy with it - performance is good
and the price was good (in NZ), but the colour is somewhat washed out.

What surprised me is that a friend bought the exact same card, and her
colour depth in GPL is far superior - not washed out at all??? This caused
us to wonder - does the other (2D) card you use have an impact?

We both have BX motherboards and PII's but not the same brand or speed cpu.
She has a Stealth G460 which does seem to give good colour depth, whilst I
have a 4mb Trident card. I'm just surprised that there is a difference -
either the manufacturer has improved their voodoo2 or drivers, or the other
card plays a part - does it?

I don't have washed out colours - at least nothing like V1.  I would
try adjusting your gamma down a bit.  TweakIt (try www.3dfiles.com)
is great for adjusting all the settings on your Voodoo card(s)

The difference could be this or even your monitor.

RAMDISK is NOT an installation procedure!

Check your gamma settings in the control panel.

I had this problem all of a sudden on my Voodoo1 card, when the gamma
got set to 1.7 across the board. I reset it back to 1 and all has been
fine since.
