Painting Cars in N 2003- Getting Started

by Timmy Ferrel » Sat, 10 Jan 2004 01:08:57

Hi all,
I've decided I would like to begin painting my own car schemes and I
really have no idea how to do it. I have very little experience with
graphics or painting programs and I would like a guide or tutorial on how to
get started. Does anyone know of  a good tutorial and/or website on how to
go about it.
I dl'd the trial version of PaintShop Pro 8.0 with the 2 resource packs.
    Any help would be appreciated.
Also, do these programs typically apply to other sims such as GPL and
F1C and their associated mods?
    TIA,
Timmy

Our web site, www.torn8oalley.com, gets asked this question quite a
bit.

My advice to those questions, and yours, is to seek out tutorials from
PSP on how to use this program. It really is a great program paint
your skins.

Once you get the hang of cutting, pasting and placing decals, images
etc on your car template, the rest falls into line quite easily.

Also, learn to "cut and paste as transparent". This feature alone will
make your life much easier when it comes creating your car.]

One last thing, check out our Forum and go to our Paint section. Feel
free to ask questions there. I know quite a few of our guys will
gladly give some tips to you there.

Every now and then TheScreenSavers on TechTV have this Photoshop expert come
by and show some sort of process in Photoshop.  By the time I even
understand what the guy wants to do, he's already created and duplicated 50
freakin' layers and has basically shit a masterpiece.
