NASCAR2/INDYCAR2 for the MAC

by ch.. » Fri, 26 Sep 1997 04:00:00

My son (8 years old) has expressed and interest in the NASCAR 2 and/or
INDYCAR 2 racing simulators by Papyrus.  The only trouble is we have a
Macintosh computer.  I have seen both NASCAR and INDYCAR advertised for
Macintosh but the "wheels" (e.g. Thrustmaster) never indicate that they
are Mac compatible.
My questions are:  Are any of the available "wheels" Mac compatible ?  If
not, what about joysticks, will any joystick that works with a Mac work ?
Is there a FAQ for this newsgroup and if so where is it located ?

Thanks

The Thrustmaster T2 wheel/pedal product, the most popular on the market,
is available for the Mac (see www.thrustmaster.com). Yes, any Mac
joystick will also work. Many people are very satisfied with joystick
control, but most people prefer a wheel.

By the way, ICR2 and Nascar 1 are available for the Mac, but not Nascar
2.

Not just any Mac joystick will work with IRC2. I bought the new Gravis
BlackHawk(?) and couldn't get it to work at all. I had to return it and get
a FireBird. Sierra support tech. explained that because the BlackHawk
wasn't available when the game came out, it wouldn't work and wasn't
supported.
