Don't worry, that sketch was from 1996. It was from a game that we quickly
abandoned! Viper Racing has NO short cuts!! We are much more hard core than
that.
Thanks for your time

No fear! That sketch was a early track concept for a totally different game.
Viper racing has NO shortcuts, ,jumps or any other arcade things.

Another great thing about Viper Racing is the fact that the designers really
seem to care what we are saying about their game, because we hear from them
alot on this newsgroup!  Keep up the good work guys; looking forward to VR's
release.

Yes, but look at where the shortcuts are placed.  The one nearest the start
finish looks difficult to get into and would probley end up being slower.
The one in the southeast corner is a jump.  Have you ever even gotten the
car 2 feet off the ground and landed?  notice how the suspension doesn't
last too long under those conditions?  One would most likely end up
replacing to get a repair job, destroying any momentum.
Also this appears to be a rough draft of just POSSIBILITIES.  This is not
saying that everything on the design was included.  These appear to have
just been some ideas as of what could be done.
This is also just one track.  The rest may not have any shortcuts at all.
Silverdale does not have any shortcuts as far as i am aware of and i have
been playing for 3 weeks straight so i think i would have noticed something.
All of this is IMHO in case you havn't already figured that out, so any of
you out there with a short fuse don't take this as a flame.

How about that funky "wheelie" mode? Hornball? heheh
All in good fun, of course. Good to see that other stuff is in there to show
off some physics.
Now how about having a steel ball chained to the back of the car?

That is, until some people drive them away with assenine
post after post after repetitive post...

Hopefully, MGI guys, you figure out quickly when to hit
delete and when to read the whole post...
