Papyrus must be quaking in their boots

I just downloaded the Nascar Revolution demo from EA sports and I must
say it's only slightly more realistic than the K'NEX formula one car
that my 4-year old has just built.
The pit crew look good, but the actual car performs rather like a fun
fair merry go round. The demo was 30Mb and took ages to d/l and all for
2 minutes "racing". I would advise people to save on their phone bill on
this one.
This has probably been said a trillion times before on this n.g. but I
missed it.
Cheers,
Paul
PS On reflection, I think my son's K'NEX car is more realistic - it
does, after all, obey all the rules of physics even if you can't get a
***pit view.

Jeez, what a pansy!  *Everyone* knows by now, Lego is _just_ like the
real thing.  K'NEX are a GAME in comparison to Legos!  Legos are a
truer simulation of the real world... erk!  ack, ahem...  Whoops,
better take a day off from RAS... ;)

Oh, and I'd have to agree with you on NR.  Sucks.

LOL, Brett, but.............
both Lego and K'NeX have released, or are about to release racing
simulations!
No, it's true. Well, when I say simulations, I use the word loosely. :-)
For the Lego one see:
http://ign64.ign.com/previews/1997.html
and the K'NeX
http://www.foxstore.com/Foxstore/product.asp?sku=4104782
http://www.houseorom.com/newproducts/virtualknex.htm
http://www.foxinteractive.com/news/press/052898g.html
The Lego game would appear to be a console game and obviously just another
arcade racer whereas the K'NeX version is a primary PC simulation and clearly
a more realistic simulation.
It's also clear that the K'NeX racer has extensive setups options (you build
the whole thing yourself!) :-)
I guess Lego will use the engine they developed for Lego Island. :-)
Now, I would buy either of these titles before I bought NR - well, I have
kids <he adds lamely>
:-)
Cheers.

Let's remember that Lego has bought a license for Star Wars and they will
produce the biggest line of Lego toys ever with the upcoming Episode1 out on
May 21st, 1999 ;-)

And Lego Island had a pretty good game engine that made the racing (in the
3mode but especially on the water) very fun ! :)

As for K'NEX, they are far away from the real deal.. err Mechano (especially
the kit #5 where you could make a realistic Formula 1 car that looked like
one also !)  ;)
