GP2 setup problems

Can some one please help me out with this one?
I've tried every setup I can think of, but I just can't solve these
THREE problems:

1. NO SOUND

My SB16 ASP/MCD/WaveBlaster WHEN it is detected does NOT work.
Have never encountered this before (at least some setups should work)
Tried with and without WB installed.

2. Can only run GP2 from my #1 HDD
(I have 2, the second with 2 partitions making "3" HDD)
When I try to run GP2 from an other HDD it locks on TRACK loading.

3. When it runs I don't get ALL the GRFX features (in both VGA and
SVGA.) Min install as my #1 HDD has only 40 MB left.
At manual max setting I get little bitmapped effects on the track,
only the cars are max.

P150/Intel Endevour/16 AND 32 EDO MB setups
DS64 S3-964 2VRAM and MATROX Millenium 2WRAM
CL SB16 ASP/MCD with and without WB (old model)
CL HEX CD-ROM
TM ASM card
2 WD CAVIAR HDD (340 and 1200 MB)
BOCA 28.8 Int. MODEM

Running in Win95 DOS and from Win95
also installed from both systems.

Only game that has this problem on my sys (and I have a "few")

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE,
Some one get me out of this misery!!!

BTW running UK/European version.

I use a SB16, and it works fine. Have you noticed, that you must use the High
DMA Channel number at the setup menu, and not the low DMA number ? At any
other Programm, you use the Low DMA Number (which is 1 at my Computer), but
here I use High DMA (which is 5 at my one).

I also use 2 WD HD (1,6G and 1,0 G). It works from every partition. You have
used Scandisk, to check the HD ? Try to load it with a minimum
config/autoexec. Do not use High Memory drivers (eg QEMM, EMM). Try to run it
without smartdrive. Even try to load it with with slower bios options.

Try to use Univibe. Could help. Who knows.

Do not use Win95. Dont use a WIN95 DOS Box ! Make a clean DOS Boot with F7
(or was it F8 ?,  I dont need that, I use the OS2 Bootmanager to have a real
Win95, DOS 6.2  with Win 3.1 and OS2 Merlin on my system).

Cheers Thomas

What IRQ do you use?

Hmmm... I have two 1.2GB EIDE drives. GP2 is on D:\GP2. It works for me.
Your better faster drive is your C:? Right? If not, just reformat it
(format /s d:) and copy your system to it & swap master/slave steeings.
I fear your 1.2GB drive is your D: because you didn't want to re-install
your system. You don't actually have to, if you do it this way. Then it
will become your C: and boot with win95. It really is easy. When you copy
from your old C: to your D: make sure you use WIN95's explorer. DO NOT USE
THE xcopy DOS COMMAND! Copy everything except your windows-95 directory
to your 1.2GB drive. Then create a new folder with the exact name as your
old windows-95 directory. GO into your old windows-95 directory and SELECT-ALL.
Then use the CNTL-leftmouse key to de-select WIN386.SWP (that is your win95 swap
file). Use your right mouse button to drag everything (except win386.swp) to
the windows-95 folder on your 1.2GB drive. Once this is done, you can swap master
and slave drives (to make your 1.2GB drive master). Then reboot & adjust your bios
if needed.

Good luck :-)
