If you want a career mode type thing then Main Event is about your only
choices. Main Event is actually two games in one. The original NHRA drag
racing which is top fuel and funny car, plus a second game that's Pro Stock
cars and trucks. The Fuel car game is a real PITA to control, but the Pro
Stock version is killer.
While Main Event does have setups if you really want to tweak things and get
deep into it then Burnout PCE is the way to go. The down fall to Burnout is
that its old and only has software mode and 3dfx. There was a newer version
of the game called IHRA drag racing but for some reason it had some
performance issues. With today's systems there seems to be enough brute
force to get by those. The only draw back to the Burnout/IHRA is no real
career mode like your looking for. I like IHRA because its got my track in
it. Its pretty cool to run a track in a game that you have in real life. :)
