I'm trying to get Nascar Racing 2 to work with my Gravis Stinger
gamepad, but I can't.

When it asks me for the LEFT and RIGHT axis, it just won't accept the
axis of the Stinger.

Any suggestions?

Usually the word "gamepad" indicates digital (on/off). If this is the
case, N2 is looking for analog signals and won't recognize your
Stinger.

Um... my mistake. No, it's not really a gamepad. It's an ANALOGUE
controller, like a joystick.

Any ideas?
