: I have a problem on nascar my regular sound will not work but the fm
: sound will work

It is almost impossible to nail down your problem w/the lack of information.

Which version are you using? If you have the Track Pack in CD-Rom form,
the sound is picked automatically. This does not guarantee that your
sound will work.

Are you using Win95? This would allow you to look at your hardware
settings using the System Icon in the Control Panel Folder. If this is
the case, it will display the correct settings for your sound card and
midi port. Use these same settings for Nascar and they will work.
Otherwise you will have to use the "MSD" command at the DOS prompt to
find the settings under Win 3.x. Be sure to take note of the IRQ and Memory
address.

If this does not help you, be more specific on what hardware and versions
of software you are using. Because I had some problems in the past, I
could definitly help you.

Please HELP!!!!!

I only get FM sound, when I use the -F switch on start up, no sound at all with
a normal start up.  Except for the closing credits I get music.  During autodetec, the
program detects a card and address that is wrong and will not work.  When I manually
enter the correct card and address sometimes it says its compatible most times it says
its not.  If I don't do the manual sound card set up every time I boot the game, my
machine locks up during start up when it confirms port, interrupt, and DMA.

                                My Hardware is as Follows

                                1) 100 Penteum/Win 95
                                2) OPTi Audio 16/Diamond Wavetable Sound card
                                3) Game card 3 Automatic
                                4) T2 Wheel & Peddles
                                5) Nascar ver. 1.21

In the device manager the diamond game port shows to be turned off, but I have a feeling
this is where my problem is.

As you can probably tell I am not very computer literate Only know on thing,

                                  I WANT TO RACE !!!
If you can help me or you need more Info please E-mail me  Thank You,  Andre

Andre

If I am correct the problem is caused because WIN95 turns down your sound
card

        1. exit to dos

        2. fire up your sound card ultility

        3. check sound levels

        4. put all levels =

that is for temp fix.

real fix:

get your sound cards updated drivers nad install them!!!!!
