which used car would you buy for driving fun?

Good day my fellow simmers...lend me yer ears..
Recently i've been sitting on a pile of cash, well...a small pile..
but i feel the need to spend it...around 2000-3000 euros.
Now i was wondering what to go for...
RWD for sure...and no electronic stuff like injection cause i want to
be able to work on it myself.
And that's all i'm sure off.
It's not gonna be a everyday driving car but just a 'take to a circuit
for a day now and then' car...although it will go to a circuit driving
on normal roads...
It can be any age...in any 'state of being'...
Suggestions?

Hmmm maybe you can pick up an old or tatty one for that price?
Try http://www.mobile.de
Question is can you afford the maintainance?

How about a BMW 325i? (OK its injection!)
I've just bought one with a friend for use as a toy on the Nrburgring
Nordschleife
There's a ready prepared one here for sale:

Or maybe a 318is?

Or an old RWD MK2 escort, or Opal Kaddett?

He could drive it backwards.  Just kidding..
Minis are great for all sorts of small club events. Rally-X for one.

I agree on the E30.  Just modern enough without being overly complex to
prevent DIY maintenance.  Solid, well-built, reasonable parts, and a ball to
drive.

An old Porsche is the best option, like Luke said. Failing that, have a look
at an Alfa 75 and don't forget the Sierra 2 litre. It's suprisingly good on
the track!

How about a Triumph GT6 MkIII? Lovely sounding V6, RWD, gearbox has
overdrive, plus they look fantastic!

I would take a Datsun 2000 over an MG or a Triumph, it might be hard to
find, but alot more fun.

1976 Toyota Corolla Sport Coupe Deluxe. Bought as a daily driver, it quickly
had me thrashing late 80's Escorts of the day. 2TC motor, RWD, 4-speed, a
fuel cell (of sorts), and none of that fancy pants ***like power steering
or power brakes. If it only hadnt been rear-ended by a Suburban back in
1990, i may have kept it mothballed somewhere. That car sits near the top of
the list of my fav rides ive been through.
