Hi guys,

Can I install rFactor on multiple machines from making one payment?  I
want to install it on two race machines.

Right now that is very much in doubt.  From what I hear, you have
three unlocks, then apparently you will have to contact customer
service for any more.  What this means for small home LANs like
yours is unknown.

I re-install windows very often.  Am I screwed?   Funny they dont mention
anything about that ***till after you own the dam thing...

And....

The AI is the worst attempt in a long time.  Ive run this thing for all of 5
lap and have been run over without prejudice at least 10 times.  They run
right over me, never once making any kind of passing maneuver.  Just run
over the human like he doesnt exist....  JHC....

Horrible first hour with Rfactor....

Have you read the Read Me?...........
....................>>Define AI opponent types, strength and
aggression<<.....................

Perhaps you need to adjust their strength and, particularly, their
aggression!

Yea it was me ;)

I had a bad taste in my mouth from the 3 install deal and I let it cloud my
thinking.

After a bit of tweaking all is good.

I know the 3 install deal is pissing people off, but its really only if you
format or do massive hardware changes.  kind of like Windows XP does it.  it
works kind of like lfs.  so if you know your going to do a format, and have
used your 3 keys,  email rfactor support before hand, like a couple of days.
get it all ready, and then you reinstall rF no problems.  if you can, after
a fresh install of windows and rF etc.  make a ghost image of your hard
drive.  I know not all can do it.  but there are ways to make your life
easier in regards to this matter

I know I'd rather do it this way than have starforce.  Imagine all the
threads here if that were the case.

Unfortunately, the way things are done for games is changing.  pirated
software is the cause of all the hassles.

I think the guys at ISI did what they thought was the best compromise for
them and for us. the last thing they would want to do is***off their
future customers(unlike DK)  this game/sim is their baby.  they want it to
succeed.  thats why no publisher on the back telling them it had to ship at
a certain date.  it shipped when ready.

I'm not speaking on ISI's behalf.  just my own point of view.  so cut the
guys a little slack. they are quite open to constructive critism.  post in
the forums  things you'd like to see added, or changed in rF.  heres your
chance guys, to get the sim you want, made by simmers themselves.  Tell the
mod teams what you want.  or learn how to do it yourself.

one last thing, wait till the modders start releasing for this sucker.  I
think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I haven't aimed this post at anyone in particular.  just my point of view.
and besides, what other sim have you got at the moment with good net code,
and is inviting you to grab the product by the balls and run with.  (modding
wise that is) :)

wow I'm out of breathe now.

cheers

Hows things down under Steve?  (and no, not New Orleans)

Ill take SF anyday...  SF has been completely unobtrusive for me despite the
ongoing bullshit over all of the non-existent issues its caused (ez target
though).  This RF scheme on the other hand is extremely annoying and a major
PITA compared to SF...

I test a bunch of software and as a result I reinstall nearly every month.
That in conjunction with my *** hardware spending habit and Im screwed.  I
used to use Drive Image religiously but that too has become a pita as much
as I change out hardware.

Calling MS is a PITA but the process isnt all that bad.

Actually I think Im going get the 48hr refund then re-order a CD.

On another note, where is the race restart button hidden?  Having to exit a
race after getting run over by the AI on the first corner is also a PITA.

ISI seems to be going the wrong way with the game interface as well.  F1x
was bad enough but this is ridiculous.  Active buttons that are blacked out
and bad flow make the interface very difficult to manage.  Yeah, after a few
hours Ill know the layout but it sure isnt a very intuitive experience to
say the least, hehe.

ditto - friggin annoying when you're in the middle of a good lap and BANG!
WTF are they (ISI) thinking? Un ***ing beleivable. And, it seems you can't
filter out the faster cars yet and you need to do well to get the faster
ones. :(

She's a weird old planet let me tell ya!

Anyway, just finished my first day with it and am now getting CTDs for
some reason - need some sleep - I'll check it out more tomorrow.

It looks promising but I remember saying this about GTR too. I just
don't know how in the *** you can release something like that!  :(

In article

Before you hit the "load track" button there's a tab with
filter options. I find rF's menus pretty illogical though,
just like ISI's other games. I suppose if I'd spent more
time in their previous work I'd feel more at home.
