Screamer 4x4: opinions requested

I have downloaded the Screamer 4x4 demo, but unfortunately I'm at work right
now so I can't try it. However, I don't feel like working so I'd like to
start a poll instead.

If you've tried Screamer 4x4, please give me your opinion of it. I've read
many glowing reviews (and a couple of poor ones). The general tone seems to
be that it is the best of the bunch, better than 4x4 Evo and 1NSANE. Nothing
I've read about the latter two has interested me in those games, but
Screamer sounds interesting.

I'm a die-hard GPL fan, so I'm looking for a similar experience: realistic,
difficult, and rewarding of effort.

I also have a relatively slow PC (PII 333, 128MB, Voodoo 3 3000 AGP) so I'd
like some idea of how it runs on this type of PC.

Finally, I've heard that people are having trouble with controller config,
so if you've tried it with an LWFF that would be useful information.

C'mon, use your employer's time and network connection to help out a fellow
gamer! Thanks :)

Rob-

I'm at work right now too, but since i discovered sim racing a year
and a half ago, i havn't worked a full day yet. My whole day seems to be spent
reading this newsgroup and searching the internet for downloads and racing info.
This thread peeked my interest because i feel like i already own the best games
in each particular genre, but don't know which offroad sim is the most
realistic. I only want to keep the best so any friends that come over can choose
any form of racing and know their playing the best. Thats why nascar3 got
deleted the day nascar4 came out. So in conclusion, i will be following this
thread closely to see which off-road sim to get. I
just hope that monster truck madness 2 isnt the best out there still. that would
suck.

Don't even bother to install the demo, then....
Screamer 4x4 is fun if you have no expectations

boss
comes in & you say: "Get de "H" out ah here! Can't you see I'm
multi'tasking!

Screamer 4x4 is the most detailed and best simulation of 4x4 offroad
driving. All those other "similar" titles are just *games*. Only Screamer
has the thing presented as it is in real life.

If you like the type of the game (going-between-those-posts), then the game
is for you! If some review complains about non-existend visual damage, don't
be bothered - they can be turned easily on.

No prob, I got my boss and the guy I share my office in both hooked on GPL.

Could you please give more info on how to turn visual damage please?

I downloaded the demo and there is a button in the vehicle setup menu that
says damage, but it is grayed out in the demo so I cant try it.
This game seems to more of like Trials riding for 4x4 jeeps and not a fast
racing game. Different but fun also. The Readme file says "This game is not
about driving fast."

Is this game released in USA yet?
