Now that the German version of GPL 1.2 is out, the English versions can't be
too far off, can they????????

I am sure looking forward to getting rid of the slo-mo effect once and for
all!

Marc.

As the song says, " any dayyy now"
Personally I don't care if it's a couplemore weeks. I'd rather have it right
than have it now. Right now is a bs issue.

Slo-mo effect. Is that what I'm seeing when I start races? My comp seems to
freeze up then go, then freeze?  But even while it does this, I'm supposed
to be getting 21fps. It's weird, and very tough to drive.

Why not right AND right now. The fix has apparently existed for weeks. For some
strange reason Sierra insists on delaying releasing the fix for the problem
created by the 1.1 patch.

It's better to test such a patch in the field a bit before releasing
it to bughunting gamers. Even though that means keeping a better
version to yourself for some time. Would be a shame to have to keep
downloading the latest 1.2.x.y patch every week with every tiny bug
being patched per-patch.

it stutters a bit more than 1.0 when starting a race, but I may be
wrong there.

I had the impression, that my fps were 1-2 lower with 1.2 compared to 1.1,
when I got less than 36 fps (race start), but no slo-mo whatsoever. Has
anybody else noticed this ?
In the moment I'm back to 1.1, because I were too lazy patching the cracked
1.2 (carsound etc.) yet.

I tried the leaked US version of 1.2 with a full field at the 'Ring
and had terrible stuttering, went back to 1.1 and no problem.  I
didn't get to test much because the 1.2 expired.

Yes but when I go back to 1.1 I don't get the stuttering, but the
slo-mo, which is not really the preferred antidote.
Sure it must skip frames if it can't keep up the drawing with the
internal race engine, but it seemed to skip in an uglier way than 1.0.
AFAIR.

I had 36fps in 1.0, went down to 33/34fps in 1.1 (with FF by MS, so
MIDI), and am back to 36/37 in 1.2.

Try George M. Smiley's crack, in the US exe, modify location 0xB16D
from 7F04 to 7C04. Will work till january then.
Don't try this on the German exe.
But well, the German people said they'd release the final version next
week. Which is basically *this* week by now. :)
