NR1999 HELP ME PLEASE!!!

by TRUSRS » Wed, 03 Mar 1999 04:00:00

I just installed NR1999 on my p-133, 80mb ram, win 98, Herc Thriller 3d 8mb pci
should I use the dos version or the Win 98  version.

Also I tried the dos version using the nr1999r.exe  and the game won't start.
It gives me a lot of different erros.
When I tried the Win 98 version  my framerate was terrible.

And since I am new to the Nascar series, can anyone tell me where to get the
best carsets, tracks, utilities, addons,  and how to install all of it.

thanx a bunch.

These are the requirements for the game as listed at www.papy.com

My computer slightly exceeds the prefered requirments, so then why am I getting
such a bad frame rate with every single graphic off. Could it be that I have
been lied to? Or am I just an idiot. Also, can anyone please give me
information on overdrives.
I saw an overdrive for $100 which will upgrade my p-133 to a p-233 with MMX.
Are they any good?
thanx.

Minimums: Windows 95, 60MHz Pentium, 16 mb Ram, Windows compatible video card
with 1mb of memory, 2x-CD-ROM
Preferred: 100MHz Pentium II, Rendition or 3DFx accelerator card, 32mb Ram,
Windows 95/98 compatible sound, steering wheel and pedals

Not anymore. hehe
I was running the game in software mode, when I should have been running it in
rendition mode. Silly me. All better now.

But, how do I install new carsets, tracks and utilities for NR99. This has
still baffled me.

For carsets, just add them to your cars/trucks directory, depending on
your carsets.  For tracks, put them in the track directory, then add
them in your calender file.

As to one of your original question about where to find
carsets/tracks/utilites, you may want to start with these two sites:

The Pits: http://www.racesimcentral.net/
Simulator ***world: http://www.racesimcentral.net/***world/

I just downloaded a Daytona day track. How do I edit the calendar?

First, you need to put the daytona folder in your tracks directory.  Then,
you need to open your calender file.  You should have 3 of them.  One for
trucks, one for busch, and one for winston cup.  They all end with a .cal
extension.  Open it with notepad or wordpad.  The easiest way is to
highlight one of the line for the other tracks, copy it, and paste at the
top of the file, (or wherever you want daytona to fall into, )  Change the
date, rename the name to daytona, and you should be set.  By the way, I
think www.theuspits.com has a patch on their website that contains updates,
such as current carsets and a current calender file, that is edited for the
daytona track.  Go there and check it out, this is one of the best sites you
can go to for patches and upgrades for nascar99.  You'll find it is alot
easier to download their patch than it is to try to edit that stuff
yourself.
