Ever seen a RED FLAG in N2?

I've been playing Nascar(1) and N2 since their release dates and have NEVER
seen a RED FLAG.  Has anyone ever seen one?  I know they have the animated
gif for a red flag.  If you have seen a RED flag come out please tell me how
I can duplicate it.  I've tried massive crashes by going in the opposite
direction and taking out about 15 cars, but the games just keeps on going...

The red flag didn't pass into the full version of the title. Other options
like the framerate didn't either.  It's still there in the layout.dat file
(same thing as the pitcrew sounds in Gp2), but have no effect in the
simulator.

I think you will have to wait until Nascar3 for red flags.  It's only about
8months away ;-)

I don't think Nas 1 or 2 has any red flags. I've only seen the yellow or black,
when racing.

Driving hint - stop wrecking, and stop speeding in the pits, and you'll
eventually see green, white, and checkered flags too. :-)

The "RED FLAG" feature was (thank god) never implemented into N2.  Can't
even think of a reason why you would want it in the game.

True Ron, I don't want it in the game, I was just curious if anyone had ever
seen one wave because I've scanned the nascar2 directories for files and saw
all the GIF files there so I put them in my GIF construction set and guess
what?  There's a waving red, yellow, black, white, green, and checkered
flags , but I'm sure most people knew this.

HA HA I love it!! Good point, guess I need to stop going in the opposite
direction :-)

As an interesting point, I usually rate how interesting a sim is by
measuring the time before I start driving in the wrong direction and
wrecking things cause I'm bored. Incidentally, I don't ever remember
doing it in N2 =)

I was in a league that would have two "fun" events where you would

  a) set damage, pace, and cautions off
  b) move the AI to it's max setting (120%?)
  c) Qualify with a provisional

When the race starts, immediately start driving backwards.  The goal was
to force all of the AI cars out of the race by wrecking them.  Then, you
start driving the right direction and when you cross the finish line on
the lead lap in  first place, you stop the sim and submit the time it
took you to do that.  The guy with the least amount of time won.

Kinda breaks up the tension that a season tends to build up in everyone.

Haha, yeah I do the same thing when I'm bored.  Come on now you must have
gotten bored with N2 before.  I love N2, but there are times when I'm just
tired of it.  So maybe I wasn't bored, but saturated with N2 after 500 laps
at Bristol... I tell you what, thank god for the pause and save game
features!!  I don't know if I could do 500 laps straight at Bristol without
a pause.

This is fun... I thought I was the only "demented" NASCAR simmer out
there...

Interesting. How long does it take?

Or maybe not, since you have to spend your weekend testing a setup
that allows you to drive the right-hand turns.
