Screamer - anyone seen it yet?

Hi

In the UK recent games magazines have had reviews of Screamer issued
(I believe) by ***.  Most of the magazines seem to review it as
highly or more so than NFS. Therefore it has piqued my interest and
as the group seems to be full of comments on NFS I can only assume
that it is not yet available even though the magazines seem to imply
that it is.

Al

BTW for those who have not seen any reviews it seems to be a game in
similar vein to Ridge Racer.

There's a demo somewhere on www.vie.com.  Although it's only about
1.4Mb, being a Demon customer, you're going to find that a very long
and slow download (American site).

I runs O.K. on my Pentium 120, but on my brothers 486DX4-120, it's
only just about playable (the demo only offers standard VGA mode).

There's a demo available at ftp.vrie.com (don't quote me on that one,
all I remember is that it's four letters that stand for *** interactive).
I didn't like Ridge Racer, so I don't like this one. It feels identical to
RR to me. This however is based on about 15 minutes in the demo and
30 on RR.

The demo (www.happypuppy.com) looked really arcadeish
and cheezy to me, much more so than nfs.
