Hi Tom,
I have them both and liked them both. Both have advantages and
disadvantages. I have not played ICR2 for some time but from my memory
I would like to say the cars behavior is more realistic. i.e. when you
only slightly touch some curbs in GP2 even at very low speeds the car
spins. Sounds and graphics are much better in GP2. ICR2 seems to me
more a simulation, GP2 more a game. I tell you why:
In ICR2 you can sit beside your PC with a stop watch and take your lap
times. They are 100% the same the computer shows you. In GP2 the
Computer shows you a simulated time, say 1.00.00 per lap. But your
stop watch says you had 1.10.00 that is ten seconds more in real live
to do this time. So if you switch GP2 to maximum graphical detail on a
slow computer you can drive as in slow motion with real time
reactions. Not very realistic. In racing this is even more problematic
since the simulation speed in GP2 seems to depend on the number of
cars around you. So when you are following a car and have one behind
you, the timing, the rhythm that you have got used to in practice does
not work anymore, giving you the hardest times in the worst situations
:-).
greetings, Joerg
