GP2 demo at Canadian GP

by PRUNE » Tue, 18 Jun 1996 04:00:00

At the Grand Prix Tour racer party at the Canadian GP They had 6 pc's
set-up to run the new gp2. The Pc's were p133 hp vectras. They could only
ever get three of the machines to run gp2 properly. It looked like three
of them could never get it running at all. I got to race a three race
quick race. The frame rate seemed very slow compared to gp1. The car set
used still had hitachi sponsored lotus in the race. The computer drivers
seemed more aggresive than in gp1. I wasnt able to observe much else do to
all of the people fighting to get on the machines.

I was present at this demo as well. I concur 100% with the previous reply, and
have this to add. The machines were not "hot" enough to run this "game"
even with 32 MB ram. I offered one of the demo'ers $100 for one of their CD-ROMs
which he politely refused.

The Seat, steering wheel(with buttons), and pedal assembly was top-knotch,
very solidly built, but there was no way to regulate how often a new person
was allowed to try the demo, so as usual the bratty little kids got their way.
