(N4) rear springs?

by Michael Barlo » Thu, 15 Feb 2001 00:20:10

I wanted to try adjusting the rear springs while I was hooked up to a
Taladega online race.  Unfortunately the Rear springs and the dampers were
grayed out and couldn't be adjusted.  I don't know if this is a bug or if
there's a rule that says you cant(?)  I also tried off-line with the same
results for Dega and Daytona.  Pocono, However, I could adjust them.

So, what gives?  Is there a rule on rear suspension settings for
specific tracks?

I haven't tried N4, but in NASCAR, there is a required spring and
shock at the two big tracks. They can't be changed.  This might be
built into the game.

In simulating the 2000 season NASCAR mandates spring rates on the rear springs
and issues the shocks that the teams use.  It's not a 'bug' is a 'feature'.
The difference being that it's *supposed* to be there to annoy you.  :)

I noticed the same thing, but...

My spoiler was also grayed out at 70 degrees, but the pole sitters were
running 192's (compared to my 188's) and saying they were running 40 degrees
spoiler.

What's with that??

Keeping the N4 experience as true to life as possible, Papy has obviously
programmed crew chief cheating into the sim.  Look for a fines and
suspension update to be released shortly.

Why, that would be in the #9's garage area. Oh no, wait, make that the
Nascar impound area. DOH!!!!

                                   See ya in the pits,

I have a terrible memory. In fact my memory's so bad I can't remember how
long it's been since I've forgotten anything.
