For the "HARDCORE" simmers

NR2003 to add 'Hardcore Mode' forcing cockpit view

Mitch_A quoted a Pits interview revealing that NR2003 would add a multiplayer Hardcore Mode forcing cockpit view, smoke, windscreen buildup and sun effects. Leagues debated whether they would use it. Papyrus had mentioned unspecified anti-cheat measures, and posters agreed cheaters would always find ways around them.

Snipped from the Pits n2003 interview.. "For the hardcore simmers out there we have added a new multiplayer mode called "Hardcore Mode". If enabled, Hardcore Mode will force the use of cockpit view, smoke, windshield buildup, and the solar effects." 'Bout dam time too :) Question is will it *ever* get used with all the roof riders everywhere?.. Mitch

It will probably be used in leagues quite a bit.
Not all leagues, wont be used in ours unless the view component can be set separately. I wonder whether they've built in anti-cheat measures as well. Achim "Mitch_A" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:Bc0P9.5081$[email hidden]...

It was asked in the interview. The answer was basically that they have made changes to help reduce cheating, but he was unable to give any details, citing basically that the less the cheaters know about it, the better it will work. No matter what measures are taken there will always be cheaters, that is a fact and no real way to solve it. I think most of the sim community is pretty good. I see no point in winning races by cheating as it does nothing for me to know I can only win that way. I'd rather come 10th with my ability than cheat to get 1st. in most league cheating isn't an issue as it is more a community than a pure completion thing. The really sad part is that they can't completely prevent cheating, sadder still, there will be people that find and use ways around the anti-cheat measures, and even more sad, they won't be very willing to address any changes that need to be made because Sierra won't let them pump too much more time into the sim in order to fix/add things that are lacking.

It doesn't matter how many anti-cheat measures they bulid in , some low-life will find a way to cheat around them. -- Biz "Don't touch that please, your primitive intellect wouldn't understand alloys and compositions and,......things with molecular structures,....and the....." - Ash Schooner <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:Ki4P9.231209$[email hidden]... > Article says they have. > > "Joachim Trensz" <[email hidden]> wrote in message > news:auij1m$7kga4$[email hidden]... > > I wonder whether they've built in anti-cheat measures as well. > > > > Achim > > > > > > "Mitch_A" <[email hidden]> wrote in message > > news:Bc0P9.5081$[email hidden]... > > > Snipped from the Pits n2003 interview.. > > > > > > "For the hardcore simmers out there we have added a new multiplayer > mode > > > called "Hardcore Mode". there are people who want to know how fast they are, and then there are people who want others to think they're fast... <g> It's a matter of self-respect, really. I roof-ride at roadies, but with the new POV adjustment, there may no longer be a need to do so. I'll be giving it a shot when the sim comes out.
Exactly. I'd like to be the fast person too but only if I did it myself. Cheating to be fast does nothing but help fragile egos IMHO. "Joachim Trensz" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:aup7d0$92sl3$[email hidden]...
