OnlineRacin.com to host Project Wildfire mods

Joe Lomas of OnlineRacin.com (OLR) announced that Project Wildfire had agreed to let OLR use its NR2003 Busch and Truck mods. Posters noted the mods would be free for everyone and criticised OLR for repeatedly delayed features. David G Fisher dismissed the mods, drawing sharp replies.

Florence, SC - Project Wildfire has agreed to allow Onlineracin.com to utilize the NASCAR Racing 2003 mods that are soon to be released. The immediate byproduct of this agreement will bring the Busch Grand National Series bodies as well as the Craftsman Truck Series bodies to Onlineracin.com including additional tracks. "It's very exciting to see the trucks again and actually see a BGN model that is slower in comparison to the Cup cars. I believe these kinds of modifications and additions to the sim will lengthen its life span dramatically," commented Jayme Blackmon. "We are now searching for the best route to take into implementing these mods into league play and how they will be most effective. I'm sure our competition committee and the Director of Competition, Joe Lomas will need to weigh all options," he added. No date has been given on the release of the Project Wildfire Mods, however you will be able to download them directly from Onlineracin.com. Note: Any fees associated with racing at Onlineracin.com do not include any kind of compensation to Project Wildfire. http://www.onlineracin.com <correct URL this time> lol http://www.projectwildfire.com/

Not sure I get that. Well, not sure what your point is either lol PW mods are free to everyone, according to Their press release :) So unless I suddenly forgot how to read, Joe making a post implying OLR has some exclusive rights misrepresents what PW is offering that's all. Hey, I like OLR, specifically the Flashpoint Series. I'm just trying to make sure I'm not missing anything. :) -- Tim White www.intracmotorsports.com "Steve Blankenship" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]... > You just need to bone up on your Press Release 101... ;-) >

Which it is anyway, but hey, whatever. OLR has and still sucks IMHO. Link up with a good league on a good server, that's the best route. Then you don't need a redirector or have to pay fees (pay leagues aside, there are a ton of good free ones out there).

But I'm not just talking about us, at some point, some of the many talented GPL editors will migrate over if they see it as a viable base for an interesting mod, and with the amount of talent at such sites as GPLEA and what not, I feel very confident that we'll see a fair number of interesting and well made mods, with or without Papy's help :-) We'll sure do our bit Beers and cheers (uncle) Goy "goyl at nettx dot no" http://www.theuspits.com "A man is only as old as the woman he feels........" --Groucho Marx--

Not trying to be an a**, but why would anyone be excited about these mods? Slower NASCAR type cars driven by guys no one's ever heard of, even in the U.S. That sounds like fun. It's not like the NASCAR cars don't handle bad enough (and go slow enough) already. Trucks??? Trucks??? Bet they handle great, and the speed must be breathtaking. We offered to assist the crew of Project Wildfire any way possible. Also, we have received countless emails since they made the announcement on the mods, so we have posted we will have it on the servers with their approval. IMO, I have always tried to build a good relationship with Papyrus and any organization that builds 3rd party software and make sure I get their approval before acting on something. Also, we are working on having the short track series as part of either the CTS or BGN mod. "Tim" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:<ZhgRa.242702$[email hidden]>...

So you're suggesting OLR can thank their lucky stars they're allowed to host the mods on their pay service? Jan. =---
You're right. These mods actually do sound exciting now. Do you think a wheelbarrow mod will be next? The trucks could deliver them. Billy Buck Joe Bob blasts around the track at 4mph due to the powerful pushin' he gets from his sister/wife. I'm not saying the others are bad, I just don't find them nearly as convincing. They certainly aren't as professionally packaged. Jason
Well if that gets implemented as fast as the new interface for OLR has.. you should see the PWF mods on OLR sometime in the year 2006 "Joe Lomas" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

I really liked what OLR is trying to do. I was a big supporter of them for over a year (even paying my monthly fees to them when I was not even racing due to lack of other members). However, there is only so many times they can announce that they are doing something "soon" and "its just in final testing" only to make some excuse 4-5 months later when it is still "close" "Scott B. What are you doing here, Dave? Aren't you supposed to be posting at your HOME forum site that covers "Midtown Madness" and "Carmageddon"?? How can you come here and knock something that hasn't even been released yet? You are obviously not a fan of the great AMERICAN sport of stock car racing. It burns my a** to read negative posts like yours about something everyone else on this forum is so positive about! People like you WON'T be missed when the Mods comes out and the FUN is being had by all.(but you..) sho......go away
Well if that gets implemented as fast as the new interface for OLR has.. you should see the PWF mods on OLR sometime in the year 2006 "Joe Lomas" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:[email hidden]...

I agree Cliff and you had no idea how upsetting that was. I learned you never go based on what a programmer tells you unless you have it in your hands and test it before you say anything. They had a few issues that was unresolved and took a lot longer than expected. Myself and some of the members have been testing the new software and it works great. I can say now being that we are testing it, the new site will be launched soon. I put the firewall check mark on XP and even on my notebook since I have a wireless linksys router, I closed my ports and put on java sun and was able to connect where before you couldn't. You can also upload up to 4 cars and use a preference tab and select between 4 cars before you race. You can place a description of your race like "OSCAR Freedom Cup" so it's easier to tell which race it is. When you click on the start button after you created your race, it takes you immediately into your race and not the Menu screen like it does now. You can right click on a race and select "show racers on track" so you would know who is in the race. We are working on getting it to show who is leading the race when you do that, but for now that will show who is in the race. Instead of just chat in each area you can also voice chat in different arenas. There are many other improvements to the site and applet. As a matter of fact, we will be showing the Flashpoint Monthly Shootout on OLRtv this Saturday. "Cliff Roman" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:<5hpRa.80045$N7.10588@sccrnsc03>...
